Over 2,000 Telugu Desam Party (TDP) activists swarmed the Collector's office raising slogans against the State Government and demanding compensation to farmers here on Wednesday. They staged a protest in front of the Collector's office here on Wednesday demanding immediate relief to farmers, who lost their crops to the downpour and cyclone. Tension prevailed when a few activists attempted to enter the premises of the Collectorate. The police on duty locked the main gate and additional forces were arranged instantly. However, some of the activists attempted to scale the gate. Their attempts turned useless, with the police preventing them from entering the premises of the Collectorate. Annoyed by the development, the activists brought discolored paddy to the Collectorate and burnt it. Later, they submitted a memorandum to the District Revenue Officer with their demands. Former Speaker of the Legislative Assembly K. Pratibha Bharathi, party leaders P.R. Mohan, Chandana Ramesh, Parvatha Chitti Babu, Party City Unit President Dusarlapudi Ramana Raju and others were present.
