Hyderabad, Sep 26th: A Tata cancer hospital and advanced research campus will soon come up in Visakhapatnam. The Tata Memorial Centre found the Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC’s) Industrial Park at Aganampudi village in Visakhapatnam suitable for the institute’s main campus which will be developed on the lines of their existing campus in Mumbai. The Tata Memorial Center which is an autonomous grant-in-aid institution under the administrative control of the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE) has decided to set up its second campus in the state.
Professor R.A Badwe, director of the center has written to the state government seeking allotment of land. In his letter to Chief Minister, Mr. K. Rosaiah, he told that Dr. Reddy had agreed to allot 80 acres for their main campus at Aganampudi and 10 acres each to set up satellite screening centers proposed at Pulivendula and Nagarjunasagar in a meeting on August 18. He informed the CM that they were planning to develop their campus in a phased manner. In the first phase thy proposed to establish a 100 bed hospital, a tertiary cancer centre for promoting prevention, cure and rehabilitation.
