Kakinada, Dec 22nd: The police force was kept ready to takeover the land that was purchased from the farmers under Kakinada Special Economic Zone. The operation is expected to start from Monday midnight and continue till Tuesday evening. The acquisition took a new turn with the mobilization of large police force.
According to the sources, the revenue officials along with the police forces are planning to takeover the 8,000 acers of land purchased from the farmers under SEZ. As the farmers are not willing to hand over the land and few are demanding for more prices the officials are forced to do so.
The government has paid 3 lakh of compensation per one acre to the farmers at the time of purchase. But the farmers are demanding for more compensation and not willing to vacant the area. Nearly 1,000 police personals were made ready for forceful acquisition. The promoters have taken this decision despite several cases in High Court and with HRC.
