Hyderabad, Dec 30th: Several Express, Passenger and Local Trains and about 8,000 Andhra Pradesh Road Transport Corporation (APRTC) buses were cancelled due to the one-day bandh called by the Joint Action Committee (JAC) of various political parties demanding a time-frame for separate statehood for Telangana. According to South Central Railway (SCR) officials, as many as 165 trains, including 46 Express, 87 Passenger and 32 MMTC suburban trains were cancelled as a precautionary measure in view of the agitators' threat to stop trains at various places in all the ten Telangana Districts.

The State-owned APRTC suspended its fleet of about 8,000 buses in all the Telangana districts, including Greater Hyderabad, from the last mid-night in anticipation of possible damages to buses by the agitators. According to official sources, 5,200 buses were cancelled in Karimnagar and Hyderabad Zone, 3,200 in Greater Hyderabad Division and 550 in neighbouring Ranga Reddy district of Andhra Pradesh.
