Summer schools starts from today

Kakinada, April 30th: The summer classes for the children of primary and upper primary schools belonging to 60 mandals all over the district are going to start from today. Rajiv Vidya Mission (formerly Sarva Siksha Abhiyan) is organizing these schools with an objective to train children in developing their academic standards. In this 40 day program scheduled to be organized from May 1 to June 10, focus will be laid mainly on B-Group students and students above 5 years. The classes will be held from morning 8 am to 11am.

 

According to district Sarva Siksha Abhiyan project officer, Hrushikesh, the children will be imparted with intensive coaching in reading, writing and simple mathematics. Along with studies the students will also be given training in sports and other cultural activities. He said that 1828 centers were setup to organize these schools and nearly 85 vidya volunteers are appointed to train the students. The vidya volunteers have been already trained under this program and will be paid with a remuneration of Rs 2500 each. He revealed that academic monitoring committee members and school monitoring committee members are visiting villages and creating awareness among the parents about the importance of these schools.
