Summer camps for school students

Hyderabad, April 23rd: Aiming to develop creative skills among the children, Sarva Shikha Abhiyan (SSA) is going to conduct summer camps for the school students from May 1 to June 10. The classes will be conducted for the students belonging to 45,000 government schools across the state. As part of summer, schools focus will be on essay writing, painting and elocution.

 

According to the officials of SSA, the classes will be conducted only from 8 am to 11 am to avoid stress on students during summer vacation. Giving less priority to academic activities more stress will be laid on developing creative skills. These summer schools will definitely help in improving the performance of the students studying in government schools.

 

Out of the three hours scheduled time, basic mathematics will be taught for one hour every day and one hour will be allotted for creative activities and cultural programs. Students will be asked to talk on their interested topics, write essays and perform plays. The classes will be conducted for the students studying from class 1 to VIII. Vidya volunteers will be appointed for the purpose and they will be paid Rs 2,500.
