Students asked to give up ragging

Rajahmundry, July 28th: Police are cautioning the students to give up the practice of ragging with a warning that those who indulge in such activities would have to face stern action. A series of programs to sensitize the students against ragging are being held at several educational institutions in the recent past. Several students unions are taking active role in organizing such programs.

 

The Dysp, Ms D. Janaki taking part in a program at a private degree college held here on Tuesday, warned the students of direct consequences if they practice ragging in educational institutions. She asked the students to call up at 100 and 1091 in case they were being subjected to ragging to alert the police and get help. Participating in similar program at another college, the Rajahmundry circle inspector, Mr. A.V.L Prasanna Kumar expresses concern over increasing practice of ragging, especially in educational institutions. He asked the students to face the situations boldly and alert the police in case of any eve teasing and ragging to take the culprits to task.
