Stir for prounited Andhra continues

Kakinada, Dec 16th: Activists of pro-united Andhra continued their stir on Wednesday, particularly by disturbing the functions of Central governments departments including banks, postal, telecom and insurance in Kakinada city. Activists target central government departments by closing them and raised slogans against the leaders who took steps for the separation of Andhra. Apart from rallies, rasta roko's, torching of KCR's effigies, relay hunger strikes of political leaders, advocates and students were also extended to Wednesday, and received an overwhelming response from the supporters of Samaikya Andhra.

The Kakinada MLA, Mr. Dwarampudi Chandra Shekar Reddy, who continued his relay hunger strike at Balaji Chruvu here for the fifth day, said that people including all political leaders and even Kadapa MP, YS Jagan and PRP chief Chiranjeevi had evinced interest in a united Andhra, but the Center had not yet taken a decision on it. The agitation by the Kakinada Bar Association and students of PR College continued for the third and second day. Schools and colleges in the city announced three days holidays.
