Kakinada, Dec 16th: Bank employees protested stir against UPA reforms of merging of banks. The employees of nearly 50 banks under the aegis of Kakinada Bank Employees C-ordination Committee here affiliated to APBEF and AIBEA (All India Bank Employees Association) observed the unions nation-wide strike in form of an hour long protest at Andhra Bank,s Zonal office at Mainroad here on Wednesday.
On the occasion, employees co-ordination committee secretary, Mr. Adinarayana Murthy said that the strike was held protesting the UPA governments reforms including privatization in the banking sector and closure and mergers of associate banks. He opposed the merging of banks in such crucial time of development in banking sector. Mr. R.S Prasad, G. Pandurangarao and others took part in the protest.
