Kakinada, Dec 18th: The stir against the Center's decision of initiating steps for giving separate statehood to Telangana continued on Friday too. Activists from all political parties, students, advocates and laborers unleashed their wrath at the Union home minister, Mr. P. Chidambaram, and the TRS president, Mr.K Chandra Shekar Rao, by holding various stirs since 9am. The relay hunger strikes of Kakinada MLA Dwarampudi Chandra Shekar Reddy, advocates, students of PR College and some TD MLAs were also extended to Friday.

Advocates of Kakinada city took out a motorcycle rally in the city. A large number of activists stopped buses at the bus complexes and depots, as part of a bus roko call given by the district Congress and burnt the effigies of KCR. Regional manager of the APSRTC, East Godavari district, Mr. Y Jagadish Babu told this correspondent that nearly 800 RTC buses were stopped, following the bus roko, and the region lost nearly Rs 3 crore revenue since the agitation started. Buses are not likely to ply on Saturday in the wake of the district bandh call given by activists, he added.
