Kakinada, Dec 31st: Government is taking measures to establish micro enterprises in rural and urban areas so as to generate employment under Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP). This is the program generated by central government under the ministry of micro, small and medium enterprises.
This scheme is implemented jointly by district industries centers, Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) and Khadi and Village Industries Board (KVIB) with the effective monitoring of DIC’s. The new program is the combined version of Rojgar Yojana and Rural Employment Generation Program.
Under this program the individual should be a major with minimum educational qualification of class VIII pass. No upper age limit is specified. Government is launching the project under manufacturing sector with a cost of Rs25 Lakh and for business and serviceable sector to a maximum of 10Lakh.
District collector Gopala Krishna Dwivedi and the chairman of the DCC has directed to call for applications from the beneficiaries by the end of January 2009 so as to complete the financing of the project before the closing of the financial year in March.
