Kakinada, Nov 4th: In an attempt to give quality education to students from class VIII to Plus Two Level by strengthening infrastructure, appointing teachers and many more the Center is coming up with a new scheme called Rashtriya Madhyamika Siksha Abhiyan which is likely to begin from the next academic year. Like the ongoing Sarva Siksha Abhiyan (SSA) program where the Center releases funds for construction of additional classrooms, provision of amenities like water, training teachers to ensure quality education for students from elementary to primary schools in the state, the new scheme RMSA, will also be launched with the same objective, but up to Plus Two Level.
The center will allocate budgetary provision based on the requirement of districts. Education authorities maintain that proposals from East Godavari were sent for strengthening infrastructure and provision of amenities in 312 high schools and each school is expected to get a Rs one crore grant for the purpose. Authorities also maintain that high and intermediate education is likely to be merged and these high schools will be upgraded to offer classes up to Plus Two level. With the ongoing SSA program, infrastructure in elementary and upper primary schools was strengthened and a large number of high schools are in desperate need to add new classrooms to accommodate the increased strength.
