State to have village courts

New Delhi, Aug 16th: The Chief Minister, Dr. Y.S Raja Shekar Reddy on Sunday said that full cooperation would be extended for the establishment of Gram Nyayalayas in the state. Speaking at the conference of Chief Ministers and Chief Justices of High Courts here on Sunday, Dr. Reddy said the need of the hour was to restore confidence among the people in the justice delivery system in the country.

Assuring full support of the state government towards the implementation of the Gram Nyayalayas Act 2008, the CM said that Chief Justice of the Andhra Pradesh High Court was also extending full cooperation in the issue. The sate law minister, Mr. M.V Ramana Rao, who has accompanied the Chief Minister in the conference told media persons that the state may be the first to implement the Act. He said that state would come out with an action plan within a month. Mr. Rao said that Center will initially fund the infrastructural needs of the program and the state government will bear the cost of running the Gram Nyayalayas.
