Kakinada, April 13th: As many as 74 employees belonging to various departments of state government were booked for not attending the training sessions conducted by the election authorities for the polling staff. Collector ordered booking of FIRs and charge sheets on these employees by sending the list to the police department. DEO said that more than 500 genuine cases were exempted from duties.
He revealed that of total requirement of 28,000 personnel for poll duty about 1500 were short. The scarcity of persons was drawn from other departments like banks, LIC and central excise departments. He said that pregnant women and feeding mother are exempt from poll duties and women are excempted from duties in interior areas of Rampachodavaram Assembly and Parliament constituency.
