Kakinada, Mar 5th: Mar 8th being the international women’s day, sports competitions were held to the working women under different government sectors. For the competitions organized by women’s wing of Andhra Pradesh Non-Gazetted Employees Society, East Godavari district collector, Mr. Gopala Krishna attended as the chief guest. By flying the balloons he grandly inaugurated the games organized at local district sports authority grounds on Thursday. Nearly 200 women from revenue, tax department, medical field, state audit, education, fisheries, R&B, police and others actively participated in the games.
Later collector presided over the meeting. Speaking on the occasion he appreciated the society for organizing such competitions to women. He said that organizing of such activities will not only give a lot of relief to the working women from their daily routine but also makes them to work with more energy. He promised the women to provide better working conditions. On this occasion he donated Rs 15,000 towards the program from collector funds. Woman convener, T. Madhavi, Y. Jaya Lakshmi, A.Ramanaidu, Sheshagiri Rao, Meenakshi, Ammaji, Sridevi and many more participated.
