Specialist docs examine victims

Kakinada, Jan 31st: Two specialist doctors from Sarojini Devi Eye Hospital from Hyderabad, Dr. Lokabhi Reddy and Dr. Karunakar, examined the ID liquor victims at the Kakinada government general hospital on Sunday. In total 17 people are undergoing treatment at the hospital, out of them four are in the AMC ward and the condition of one of them is stated to be serious, the two specialists doctors reviewed the medical care of the victims. Ophthalmologists Dr. Muralikrishna, Dr. K. Lakshmoji Naidu and physicians Dr. Bharat Kumar Jain and Dr. Bhavani explained the details of medical care being extended to the victims.

According to Dr. Lakshmoji Naidu, out of the total 17 undergoing treatment eight were admitted on Sunday with complications in eye sight. Dr. Naidu said that on examination it was notices that the optic nerve of these eight persons was damaged due to the consumption of ID liquor mixed with methyl alcohol. This may create eye sight complications in future, he observed.
