New Delhi, Sep 10th: The CBI on Thursday constituted a special team to investigate the death of YSR. This comes following the state’s request for a CBI probe into matter. The special team will be headed by the SP CBI Vizag, Mr. G. Nageswar Rao. The team members are expected to visit the crash site in Nallamalla forest where Dr. Reddy’s chopper crashed and will also check the details of the Air Traffic Control in Hyderabad and Chennai.
According to the sources, investigation has been ordered under section 174 of Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC). The probe under the section is conducted when the victim dies following accident or killed by another or by machinery. The state government has already formed a two member committee to investigate the incident from all angles adding that the team will submit its report in 60 days.
Meanwhile the Directorate-General of Civil Aviation is likely to come out with its preliminary report on the crash in two weeks. On Thursday, a five member high level committee headed by Mr. R.K Tyagi visited the crash site and analyzed the reasons for the mishap. They studied the weather reports of the Met department when the accident occurred, crucial parts of the chopper were collected and the entire area was video graphed.
