Special prayers offered

Kakinada, Nov 9th: A large number of devotees offered special prayers in the Siva temples to mark the auspicious Monday during Karthika Masam in East and West Godavari districts. Devotees were seen taking holy dip in Godavari River in the early hours at various ghats in Rajahmundry and after performing religious rituals they visited temples and offered puja. Several devotees thronged especially the Pancharama temples as visiting these five temples on a single day, especially on the auspicious Monday during Karthika Masam is considered to be good.

APSRTC is also running special buses from various depots in the Godavari districts carrying the pilgrims to these temples. People from several parts of the state visited one of the Pancharama temples of Uma Someswara Janardhana Swamy temple at Bhimavaram. Devotees were seen waiting for long time in serpentine queues to their turn to have darshan of the lord. Endowments authorities made arrangements by setting up barricades to avoid any overcrowding of the devotees.
