Kakinada, April 14th: On the eve of ensuring polls in the district, the police authorities are conducting special checks at various places in the district. As a part of special drive police seized various motor bikes for violating model code of conduct. In addition to this they also seized one jeep and one truck. They booked cases on 12 persons and arrested 18. As a security measure police are conducting regular raids on lodges and parcel service centers.
According to the district SP, Ms Charu Sinha cases were also booked on the contesting candidates for violating the poll code. A case was booked against Ms J Vijaya Lakshmi, Rajahmundry rural congress candidate for holding a meeting on Monday with out the permission from the authorities. Ms. Sinha also revealed that a case was booked against independent contestant, MR. Mutta Gopala Krishna for unauthorized stocking of cricket bats. Police seized the stock. In addition to this Police also seized money transfer certificates from a printing press.
