District Superintendent of Police, Y.Nagireddy got transferred to Hyderabad North Zone as DCP. He is replaced by Mr.G.Srinivas who belongs to direct IPS batch and he previously worked at Prodduturu of Kadapa District. As of now he is working as SP in Intelligence Bureau at Hyderabad. Mr.Y.Nagireddy took the responsibility as SP since April 2nd 2008. He took severe actions against Maoists, gambling and other cases. During 2009 elections, on April 4th he was transferred and within a month he was shifted back to Kakinada again. In recent days, Mr.Nagireddy brought few changes in police department wherein he took action against the corrupted police staff. Strengthen actions like suspensions, dismissals, VR’s were taken under his duty. Heavy vehicles were allowed on Road cum Railway Bridge at Rajahmundry against the regulations. This was possible with the help of few corrupted police personnel and at a time 11 police personnel had been suspended under this case. SI suspensions were recommended in other cases like missing of bullets, abuse of women, playing cards, false files entered. Mr.Nagireddy belongs to 1997 batch where he previously worked as SP at Kadapa. Last February he acquired selection grade promotion.
