Sonia to consult PM on Jagan

Hyderabad, Sep 8th: The party president, Mrs Sonia Gandhi, will consult the Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh, Mr. Veerappa Moily, who is in charge of party affairs in AP, and other state leaders for the process of selecting the successor of the late Chief Minister, Dr. Y.S Raja Shekar Reddy on Thursday, when the mourning period would come to an end. This was disclosed by Mr. K.V.P Ramachandra Rao, Rajya Sabha MP and a long friend of YSR, after an hour-long meeting with Mrs. Gandhi at her residence on Tuesday.

Sources said that Congress president would convene a core committee meeting on Thursday to discuss over the issue. Mr. Rao told the media persons that he had put forward his views on the political situation in the state during his talks with Sonia. The Congress MP, Mr. S. Hari, a supporter of Mr. Jagan, also met Mrs Gandhi on Tuesday. Sources said the high command was still weighing several options including continuing with the present CM, Mr. K. Rosaiah and making Mr. Jagan a key minister or even the APCC president.
