Solar LED Lanterns are now obtainable for Kakinada Citizens who are distressed due to regular power cuts. This Solar Lanterns will be charged with the help of solar heat for up to 7 hours daily and can be used for up to 4-5 hours continuously during power cut. Government makes the Solar LED Lanterns available through the subsidy of NEDCAP Organization. The actual cost of this lantern is Rs.2050/- while Government Subsidy is Rs.900/- and the purchaser can get at Rs.1150/-Latern has 2 year warranty and the solar panel has 20 years warranty. Current charger is also being provided with Solar Panel. NEDCAP District Manager DV Prasad said that these lanterns would be available with subsidy. Customers can purchase these lanterns at NEDCAP Office located beside to DWAMA (District Water Management Agency) Office at Collectorate premises, he added.
