Annual meeting among the headmasters and physical education teachers of Zilla Parishad schools was conducted here on Saturday. The East Godavari district administration is preparing software to record the marks obtained by students of all Government schools in the district. It will help the officials observe the performance of each and every school and take steps to improve pass percentage in the public examinations. District Collector Mr. M. Ravi Chandra stressed  on the need for achieving zero failure rates in all schools and improving pass percentage in the SSC public examination. Referring to the last academic year's results of the SSC examination, he said that the district registered a pass percentage of 81 per cent. Routhulapudi mandal registered the highest pass percentage of 96.53 while Devipatnam mandal registered the lowest pass percentage of 34.25, he said. Mr.Ravi Chandra said necessary steps must be taken to achieve zero drop out rates from class VI to SSC and allow students to have a glimpse of their answer sheets after the valuation. This will help students improve their performance, he added. Regional Joint Director of the Directorate of School Education V.S. Bhargava, Additional Joint Collector B. Rama Rao, District Educational Officer R.S. Ganga Bhavani and other officials were present.
