Kakinada, Aug 11th: A seminar on “modern skills of civil engineers” was organized by Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University here on Tuesday. Prof of civil engineering department, Cambridge University of the United Kingdom, Dr. M. Gopal attended as the chief guest for the program. Speaking on the occasion he assured the JNTU university authorities to extend all possible help in syllabus making and in extension of research facilities pertaining to civil engineering.

Prof Gopal also discussed about the drastic changes that are taking place in construction sector. He revealed that the civil engineering will play a very important role in the next two decades in construction activity. He also said that technology had developed to such an extent that modern construction can withstand tremors of high intensity. Later he interacted with students and answered their questions. Principal E.V Prasad, vice principal G.V.R Prasad Raju, V. Purnanandam and Ramu were present.
