Kakinada, May 10th: East Godavari District Joint Collector, Mr. Kona Sasidhar sought the cooperation of the millers in the district for the sale of fine quality rice at low cost and also the purchase of paddy which was affected due to rains in some parts of the district. Addressing the millers in a meeting organized at district collectorate on Saturday, Mr. Sasidhar directed the millers to strictly observe the norms of milling capacity and stocking of both rice and paddy in their rice mills.
Mr. Sasidhar said that the administration has made arrangements for the purchase of fine quality rice to the tune of 20,000 tones for the millers and out of this 6,500 tone will be utilized for the local needs and the remaining will be utilized for the use of other districts. He said that the purchase will be made through the state Civil Supplies Corporation. JC said that the 44 counters were arranged for the sale of fine quality rice at various places in the district and were serving the needs of the people effectively.
