Kakinada, Mar 30th: Seetamsetty Venkateswara Rao is going to contest for Rampachodavaram Assembly seat in the next month elections that are scheduled to be held on April 16. Mr. Venkateswara Rao filed his nomination on Monday as a PRP candidate. He joined the party a few days ago after his trails to get TDP seat failed. Previously in 1999 and 2004 elections, he contested as TDP candidate from Yellaswaram Assembly segment and won the elections. Yelleswaram constituency lost its identity in delimitation and emerged as Ramchandrapuram constituency.
TDP party is retaining the seat since 1983, the year of its formation. Though the contesting candidates are different, TDP won the seat in 1983, 85, 89, 94 and 2004 respectively. This time TD party has given seat to the sitting MLA from Yelleswaram, Mr Chinnam Babu Ramesh. Mr. Ramesh has also filed his nomination on Monday, the last day for filing the nomination.
