Seemandhra Employees have decided to go on strike from Monday midnight, against the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh state. The Seemandhra Employees Joint Action Committee (JAC) issued an ultimatum to the state & central governments. Lakhs of Government Employees (Non-Gazetted officers) and Workers from public sector companies including APSRTC would join the indefinite strike in protest against the Congress Working Committee's decision to bifurcate the state. Supporting the protest, Tahsildars, Mandal Parishad development officers, Executive officers in the Panchayat raj (EOPR) department and the commercial taxes department are joining the strike. Also, several key departments such as agriculture, revenue, animal husbandry, health, education and excise would be hit by the strike, especially during the farm season. Employees of the power distributor companies have also decided to support the agitation.
