Security level-II in kakinada port

      Kakinada, Dec 9th: Security level-II was raised in Kakinada port as per the directions of the government of India. This was brought into force from November 27 following the terrorists attack at Mumbai and as per the international ship and port facilities safety code.

    Port authorities had also put a check on the ships which were visiting the port daily. They ordered the fisher men to give feedback about the movement of the vessels in the sea. In addition to the present security forces, special officers were drawn from Special Protection force (SPF) for extra security.

    Authorities have also kept an eye on the movement of public in the port area who were boarding and alighting from ships. Checks on fishing trawlers and missing boats were also taken as a part of special drive.
