The second phase of Intensive Pulse Polio Immunization Campaign was inagurated by Union Minister of State for Defence, Mr. M.M.Pallam Raju here on Sunday at NGO Home in Kakinada. Speaking on this, he called upon the public to drive out the Polio virus from the society. He stated Parents, Health officers, Hospitals, Voluntary & other organizations should come together to drive out the polio virus by encouraging pulse polio compaign with the support of Government. Children below 5 years of age were administered Pulse Polio drops across the district on this second phase compaign. Later, Municipal Health Officer Ratna Uma stated that 92% of children were administered with polio drops in the district on this second phase camp and remaining children will be covered on 16th & 17th of this month by direct walk-in of volunteers to every house in the district, she added. She called upon the public to use this oppurtunity. District Collector Mrs. Neethu Kumari Prasad, MLA Mr. Chandra Shekar Reddy, MLC Mr. Chaitanya Raju, MLA Mrs. Vanga Geeta, DM&HO Dr. Vijay Kumar, Municipal Corporation Health Officer Ratna Uma, Mr. Pantam Nanaji, Mr. Nulakurthi Venkateswara Rao, Mr. Syam Sundar and others participated in the program.
