Hyderabad, Sep 8th: The state government has directed all schools and colleges to screen students for swine flu symptoms before they enter the classroom. The guidelines issued by ministry of health and family welfare stated that schools should not be closed unless many students are infected. It has been made mandatory that all class teachers should screen each student in the class. Teachers and other non teaching staff of the educational institutions have been advised to stay at home if they develop flu-like symptoms.
School authorities have also been directed not to insist on production of medical certificate from such absentees. The patients who show swine flu symptoms should be given dosages of Oseltmavir. An official of the health department asked the school management to constantly monitor the health conditions of the students and report the same to the health authorities. Schools authorities are also asked to circulate pamphlets containing HINI preventive measures.
