Rajahmundry, June 25th: The educational authorities have started issuing notices to the schools and junior colleges, asking them to submit details of fees collected from the students for admission into their colleges. In wake of allegations from parents and students over the collection of high fees and governments decision to constitute a body to come up with recommendations for imposing regulations on admission fees the authorities have issued notices to the schools and colleges.

Admissions from lower kindergarten to class X costs between Rs 5,000 and Rs 20,000 and students of intermediate course have to pay fees ranging from Rs 7,000 to Rs 12,000 for the I year with Eamcet coaching. For II year they have to pay Rs 9,000 to Rs 14,000 with Eamcet. Coaching for entrance test for IIT and AIEEE courses costs an additional Rs 5,000 per annum.

Parents are alleging that the college managements have commercialized education to make money in form of fee and donations. They demand the government to regularize fee collections. The school education regional joint director, Mr. S Jagannath Reddy said that they have sent the notices to various schools to get information on fee structure. “We will impose regulations”, he said.
