Selections of School games sportsperson has commenced at District Sports Ground here on Thursday. Inspector of Physical Director Ch Venkat Rao had started these competitions. Speaking on this, he stated that this year, Rs.3 Crores have been released for conducting School games and therefore, plans are being made to conduct these games in almost every district, he added. Total 450 sportsperson across the district have attended to participate in this Under-17 games. These competitions were to be conducted from morning 9am but were delayed due to continous rains. Indoor games were delayed for 1 hr and outdoor games were started from 3pm afternoon. Participants complained that they faced problems while playing, as the ground was drenched. District Sports Development Officer SV Ramana, Former DSDO Ravi, Sports trainers of various schools was present.
