Kakinada, Dec 16th: The Andhra Cricket Association (ACA) has decided to give scholarships for the selected cricket players from all the districts from the month of June. The selected sports persons are going to receive scholarships upto Rs 1,000 to Rs 3,000 every month. With the decision taken by the ACA, the sports persons felt very glad that this would help them in improving their skills furthur. All the candidates selected for the zonal level will be receiving a scholarship of Rs 1000/- and those selected for the national level will be receiving Rs 3000/- per month.
The process is likely to begin in the month of June and in order to maintain transparency the money will be transferred to the bank accounts by first of every month. At present the ACA is planning to give the scholarships for under-14, 16 and 19 levels and they were planning to extend the same to under -22 in future. According to the East Godavari district association president, Damisetti Prabhakar Rao, nearly 15 players were selected from the district. He felt that the new initiation will financially help the players coming from villages.
