Rajahmundry, Sep 5th: At a municipal corporation council session held to condole the death of former chief minister Y.S Raja Shekar Reddy here on Saturday, corporators proposed naming several upcoming facilities including a stadium, a water filtration plant and a flyover after the late CMs a token of gratitude for the schemes initiated at his behest. A majority of the corporators cutting across the party lines, hailed Dr. Reddy as a man of conviction and dedication and said that he was immortal and remains in the hearts of nearly seven crore people in the state for works taken up during his regime.

Presiding over the council session, mayor Ms A. Veera Raghavamma (TD) praised the former CM for facilitating payment of wages to the municipal employees through treasury on the very first day of the month unlike the earlier days of employees struggling hard to make their ends meet due to delayed payment of wages. She also lauded him for providing health insurance to the employees and expressed anguish over his sudden death. Municipal commissioner Mr. K. Manik Raj said, with the loss of Dr. Reddy, AP lost a very able and dynamic leader.
