The Samaikyandhra agitation reached 44th day on Thursday, since the Samaikyandhra Movement commenced. The activists of Samaikyandhra agitation staged protests in the city, against to the CWC decision on State bifurcation. Normal life was already paralysed due to the indefinite strike called by the APNGOs, RTC employees for the last 44 days. The AP Transco, AP Genco and Power Distribution Corporation added more strength to the agitation by calling 72-hours strike. Street lights turned off in all the major areas in the city as a part of this protest on Thursday. The electricity JAC declared that only emergency services like drinking water, hospital and railways would be attended to during the three-day strike which was began from Wednesday midnight. District Teachers JAC also went on strike on Thursday. Private Educational Institutions declared Bandh for Today & Tomorrow. District JAC of students, employees and many other sections continued their rallies and protests in their own ways in the city.
