Rythu Chaitanya Yatra Flagged Off

District Collector M.Ravi Chandra and Zilla Parishad Chairman Ch.Venugopala Krishna flagged off Rythu Chaitanya Yatras at Krushi Bhavan here on Monday. On the occasion, Mr.Venugopala Krishna said every farmer should develop into a scientist by doing agriculture and allied activities in a scientific manner, for which they need to equip themselves with the smallest detail of agriculture and related subjects. Prime Minister Manmohan Singh waives farm loans amounting to Rs.73, 000 Cr last year keeping the farmers welfare in view. Late chief minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy had also taken various initiatives for their welfare. The Rythu Chaitanya Yatras were aimed at scientifically sanctioned them so that they could secure higher yield and productivity. Mr. Ravi Chandra said farmers would be educated about the ways to achieve higher yield with minimum investment as most of them were not in a position to spend big sums. Besides, all technological aspects would be let known to farmers. They would be in a far better position if they fully implement the latest concepts. Soil health cards would be distributed to farmers soon. Testing of the soil quality was already done. Joint Directors T.Nandaiah (agriculture) and Prem Das (animal husbandry) agricultural scientists K.Venugopala Rao and Sattiraju and others were present.
