The District Police on Friday arrested six women on the charge of running a brothel with the help of mobile phones and computers. The women were charged with involving housewives into this. The accused were all residents of Rajahmundry and Peddapuram. They initially made friendship with the housewives and encourage them into prostitution. The police charged them with collecting mobile phone numbers and mail IDs. Superintendent of Police, G. Srinivas said that the police and the district administration were very serious about prostitution and steps were being taken to close the brothels in Peddapuram and Tuni areas. Eleven brothels have been closed and the revenue officials have to take a decision on the closure of 10 more brothels in Peddapuram.
