State RTI Commissioner Smt. Lam Thanthiya Kumari has issued notices to some of the district officials who were failed to divulge information within the specified period of 30 days. Yesterday, she has visited and conducted a review meet on the pending RTI cases at Collectorate in Kakinada. She was heared many cases of RTI, here. Speaking on this, she has remarked that the Right to Information-Act is not being implemented properly in the district and that there is pendency of cases in the district due to workload as well as negligent attitude of officials. She has stated that the RTI act was intended to benefit the poorer sections in the society. She has announced that the Private Educational Institutions will also comes under this act. Later in the evening, she has suddenly visited the ICDS office in Kakinada and inspected the implementation of RTI act.
