Kakinada, Oct 29th: As the train services between Samalkot and Kakinada railway station will be partially terminated between November 1 and 8 due to repair works of the tracks between the stations the Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation is planning to operate more services between Samalkot and Kakinada. At present, the RTC runs 18 Express and 21 ordinary bus services per day between Kakinada and Samalkot from the depots of Kakinada and Rajahmundry. The average distance between the two places is around 15km.
Most people go by trains because of its affordable fare and comfortable journey, as compared to bus. The partial termination of the trains will impact daily train commuters. People want the RTC to operate more buses to clear the extra rush at the RTC complexes at Kakinada and Samalkot. Speaking on this the regional manager of Road Transport Corporation (Eat Godavari) Mr. Y Jagadeesh Babu said that initially, they were going to operate six more buses apart from the existing one. He also said that, however, after examining traffic at the bus complexes, they would increase the buses.
