RTC plans to improve amenities

Kakinada, Jan 20th: RTC authorities are planning to improve the sanitation and other amenities in all bus depots of East Godavari district. The APSRTC authorities issued a circular to all the regional managers in the districts recently to that effect. A private agency will be entrusted with the job of maintenance of toilets on 'pay and use' basis,  while the maintenance of cleanliness will be taken up by the RTC authorities.

The authorities say that they will start implementing the new circular in the depots, when the current two years term of the contract expires. It also mentioned the contract period as per new norms to be four years. The authorities in East Godavari are making efforts to start new direct services from Konaseema to Tirupathi and also to a few towns in Chhattisgarh as part of interstate bus service agreement. There are plans to increase bus services to Hyderabad also.
