Hyderabad, Dec 15th: The Joint Action Committee (JAC) of five APSRTC unions, barring the recognized National Mazdoor Union (NMU), has decided to go on an indefinite strike from January 5 demanding 22 percent interim relief for all the one lakh employees on par with the government staff. The JAC leaders decided to begin their strike independently on January 5 as the NMU has already announced its strike from January 6.

Official estimated that the corporation will have to bear an additional financial burden of Rs 250 crore if the management agrees to pay the 22 percent interim relief. The burden will be more if the demand for a 50 per cent hike in salaries is accepted. The JAC leaders, who held talks with the management and the transport minister, Mr. Satrucharla Vijayarama Raju, were not satisfied with their assurances.
