Kakinada, Nov 25th: Road Transport Authority (RTA) has launched slot system for its services in East Godavari district. With this the people need not visit the RTA office, but get most of their work done online at www.aptransport.org. The entire testing process has now been streamlined with slot booking facilities created for people to get licenses, either learners or permanent one. While talking about the slot system, the regional joint commissioner of the RTA, Mr. Praveen Rao said that with an objective to make the process of issuing driving license hassle-free to people, the system was launched a month ago.

The system is successfully being run in Visakhapatnam and Hyderabad. However, through this system the department is able to control the increasing complaints of citizens and saving the travel time and money of the people who usually approach the RTA from far places. The RTA has tied up with all e-seva centers in the district. So, with the local area network, any citizen can fix their own slot at any of the three RTA offices including at Kakinada, Amalapuram and Rajahmundry or any e-seva centers in East Godavari district.
