R & B Department has sanctioned Rs. 7.73 Crores for total six roads development in Kakinada. Tender notices have been already released on this, however, due to elections in district, this has been put of hold temporarily. Rs.2.39 Crores have been sanctioned for the extension of roads in Vakalpudi from 4/0 Kilometers to 8/0 Kilometers and from 12/0 to 17/0 Kilometers. As this road proceeds towards Kakinada Beach, it will be fit for visitors. Rs.1 Crore has been sanctioned for extension and repairds of Kadiyam to Vedurumudi road upto 23 Kilometers. Rs.1.30 Crores have been sanctioned for Kakinada to Rajahmundry extension upto 45 Kilometers and other repairs to 13 Kilometers. On the other hand, Rs.162 Crores have been sanctioned under NABARD funds to construct bridge at Tammavaram Village. Department EE Mr. P.Abbana stated that proposal has been sent for Rs.6.25 Crores to extend four road hig way from Sarpavaram Village to Madhavpatnam.
