The State Government has decided to gift Rs 50,000/- to a couple opting for inter-caste marriage. The cabinet took the decision with the view to abolish caste system in the state. Earlier, Government used to gift Rs.10, 000/- for couple. Government announced that amount has been increased to Rs.50, 000/- here on Thursday. However, 120 couples are still waiting to receive this from Government. As budget has not been released from Government yet, amount is not yet received. However, questions were being raised whether Government who kept Rs.10, 000/- per couple in pending can now pay Rs.50, 000/- or not.
