Rs 300 crore loans to SHG

Kakinada, Dec 17th: East Godavari district collector, Mr. Gopala Krishna Dwevedi ordered the bankers to give loans worth Rs 300 crores to self help groups (SHG) by the month of January. A meeting was organized with the bankers at Collectorate court hall on Thursday. Speaking on the occasion he revealed that the initiation was taken as the Andhra Pradesh chief minister, Mr. Rosaiah would visit the district in next month and the complete process should be completed by then. He asked to give the loans branch wise within 15 days as per the scheduled time.

He alleged that the district was lagging behind the development  and asked the bankers to help in all means for the development. He reminded that nearly 54 branches were identified to be neglecting the works and asked the bankers to conduct counseling for the concerned branch managers. He stressed the need to give loans worth Rs 200 crore every month to SHGs. LDM Jagannadh Raju, Andhra Bank AGM Sri Rama Raju, DRDA PD Rama Rao and other participated in the meeting.
