The Union Minister for Human Resources Development, Mr. M.M.Pallam Raju has stated that Rs.135 crores worth Geotube will be arranged in Uppada beach area, for temporary erosion control and storm surge protection. Yesterday, speaking with media persons in a meet, he said 'we have seen good results with the geotube, which was arranged with expenses of Rs.14 crores in the beach area. With this inspiration, we are going to expand this with worth of Rs.135 crores', he added. On first phase of the project, Rs.60 crores of funds would be released and remaining Rs.75 crores will be released on second phase, he stated. He also stated that the Mini Harbour worth of Rs.58 crores, will be constructed in Kakinada beach area, for the sake of fisherman. He said, Rs.2.71 crores worth Mini Sports Stadiums are about to construct in Samalkot & Peddapuram areas. Super Speciality Hospital also be constructed with Rs.51 crores of funds in Kakinada. Many more development works are going on in the district, he added. Later, he was released 'Swayam Raksha' book, which was written by GITE college principal Mr. M.Ramji here. District Collector, JNTU-K Registrar, University Planning & Academic Director, RDO and many other officials participated in the meet.
