Kakinada, Jan 7th: Week long Road Safety drive conducted by the Road Transport Authorities (RTA) was concluded here at Kakinada Depot on Thursday. The drive was held from January 1st to 7th to create awareness about the public about the safe driving to ensure their own safety and also the safety of the general public. Speaking on the occasion Regional Transport officer (RDO) Veerayya Naidu called upon the riders and drivers to be careful while driving their vehicles.
The regional transport officer also said that the number of accidents and the fatalities were also increasing enormously causing concern and liad stress to adopt safety norms while driving vehicles. He suggested them to avoid cell driving to avoid accidents to maximum extent. Later the department distributed cash awards to five of the best drivers. Depot manager B. Nageswara Rao, Asst manager CS Murthy and other participated.
