Rich tributes to Jyotirao Phule

Kakinada, Nov 28th: Rich tributes were paid to Jyotirao Phule on the occasion of his 118 death anniversary. Social welfare minister Pilli Subhash Chandra Bose has inaugurated the Statue of Phule at old bus stand on Friday.  Greater arrangements were done at Ambedkar Bhavan for the occasion of death anniversary.

    Speaking on the occasion minister recalled the efforts of Phule regarding the uplift of Backward Communities and fight against the domination of the upper classes.  He added that, Phule contributed a lot to the society in order to abolish the inequalities and superstitions in society.

     Collector Gopala Krishna Dwivedi, MLA Muttha Gopala Krishna has also participated in the occasion. Speaking on the occasion Collector appreciated the efforts of Phule to build a society without caste discrimination. He also said that everyone should follow the principles of Phule and asked the BC’s to utilize the various facilities provided by the government to uplift them.

     MLC Shesha Reddy asked the Government to take up more measures for the development of the Backward Classes and to raise their standard of living. He garlanded the statue of Phule and paid tributes.
