Kakinada, April 14^th: Rich tributes were paid to Dr. B.R Ambedkar on the occasion of his 119^th birth anniversary here on Tuesday. In this connection a program was organized at local Ambedkar Bhavan by the district social welfare department. District collector, Mr. Gopala Krishna Dwevedi, joint director of social welfare, Mr. P.S.A Prasad and others presided over the program.

Speaking on the occasion collector recalled the work done by Ambedkar for the uplift of the weaker sections. He called upon the people, especially youth to emulate the ideas of Ambedkar. Later at the program organized by the AP Scheduled castes Association, collector gave an aid of Rs 10,000 to the son of association activist Jagadam Babji who recently expired. He promised to give assistance to the student under protsaham scheme initiated by the district administration. The celebrations were also organized at JNTU and AU MSN PG center in Kakinada.

Rajahmundry

Meanwhile at Rajahmundry various blood donation camps and other programs were organized in this occasion. Praja Rajyam Party MP Candidate Mr. U.V Krishnam Raju inaugurated the blood camp organized by PRP at Hotel River Bay in association with Jagruti Blood Bank.
