Kakinada, May 10th: East Godavari District Joint Collector, Mr. Kona Sasidhar instructed the educational department to make arrangements for the supply of textbooks to the students by the time the schools were opened after summer vacation. To review over the arrangements, JC organized a meeting with the officials of education department at his chamber on Saturday.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Sasidhar revealed that nearly 4.32 lakh text books are needed to meet the requirement of all the government schools, schools under the control of civic bodies and aided schools. He also revealed that the district has at present a stock of 5.58 lakh books and another 20.27 lakh books were recently supplied making a total of 26.12 lakh.
JC ordered the district educational officer, Mr. Mallikarjuna Sastry to make arrangements for the supply of remaining textbooks by the end of May so that no scarcity occurs after reopening of schools. He ordered for setting up of outlet at each mandal for the sale of text books to the private school students. In this concern he called upon the applications from the book shops owners for setting up of outlets.
